De Kloe Hits: De Kloe is an Antwerp/Brussels-based band. They play organic, homegrown dance beats mixed with raw musical themes and bare-boned structures. It serves as the starting point for musical improvisation and playful experimentation.
‘De Kloe Hits’ is De Kloe’s debut EP on Rotkat Records. Earlier, they released the first single from the EP, ‘Hit It.’ This single revolves around a tight drum ‘n bass beat, an elastic bassline, and an airy garage/surf guitar riff. Throughout the rest of the EP, various musical ideas are layered and woven together to create new hybrids. In this sense, ‘De Kloe Hits’ perfectly aligns with Dennis Tyfus’ description following their concert at De Nor: “When five entirely different bands play together and it magically works.”
Over the years, De Kloe has performed on various stages, including De Nor, Onder Stroom, Leffingeleuren, and Signaal Festival. Until now, they’ve released several demo tapes, live recordings, and various standalone tracks independently. For ‘De Kloe Hits,’ the group aimed to maintain a close connection to live recordings. While there’s more focus on a specific sound compared to previous releases, a certain DIY-approach still persists.
The EP was recorded in the rural town of Schelderode, alongside Sergey Steenackers, who also mixed the EP. The songs were written some time before and matured through numerous concerts and rehearsals, resulting in the versions heard on ‘De Kloe Hits.’ Karel De Backer handled the mastering.
‘De Kloe Hits’ will be available both online via popular streaming platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, Bandcamp, etc.) and on cassette. Only hits included!
The release of ‘De Kloe Hits’ is accompanied by a tour that begins on February 2nd at Het Bos in Antwerp. Other tour dates include:

February 23rd - This Shittown (Nijlen)
February 28th - Trefpunt (Ghent)
March 2nd – WP8 (Düsseldorf)
March 9th – Villa Bota (Bruges)
March 28th – Café Central (Brussels)
